now that this site is set up, i can put pretty much anything on here! Too bad there's nothing that I wouldn't share on fedi but would here.
At least it has:
• some generic bio stuff
• over 30 88x31s, some of them overcompressed for no reason
• a button that takes you to a webpage elsewhere picked randomly out of a list of over 70 and is hidden if you don't have javascript enabled because i want to accomodate for paranoid people like myself
• a link to the fediring (i'm not in it yet, waiting for them to see my email)
anyway
In a nutshell, you have tags, tags can have attributes, and you can put other tags and pieces of text inside of these tags, and these tags with their attributes change how said pieces of text look according to the standard. You get even more flexibility with CSS, and while it's generally considered a good idea to isolate your CSS from your HTML, you can also just- not? If you look at the source code for this page, pretty much all of the CSS is set per-tag with the "style" attribute.

actually don't it looks like hell. maybe do. it doesn't matter, it works, i only picked this whole thing up yesterday so i get to be proud of it lol. point is, if you're bored, go play around with the stuff, it'll busy you for a good few hours. Start simple, then introduce more things to your page as you learn. look up how to do what you need to do as you progress - web development is one of the most documented topics on the web.
EDIT: this site is part of the fediring now! yipee!
